Risk Advisor

We are now accepting applications for an ambitious Producer to join our New Business Sales Team. This Producer will be primarily responsible for selling Professional Liability, Management Liability, as well as Commercial Property and Casualty products to healthcare professionals throughout the mid-Atlantic region. ​

The essential tasks the selected candidate will be assigned include:

  • Develop and execute sales plan including marketing activities, prospecting calls and follow up activities, networking opportunities and keeping a full pipeline of opportunities at various stages of the sales process

  • Research and develop a sales and marketing plan for new or emerging segments within the healthcare field. Pursue leads and follow through to closing

  • Arrange meetings with prospective clients and referral partners for the purpose of conducing needs analysis, sales presentations, and cultivating relationships resulting in new agency business opportunities

  • Engage and leverage the appropriate internal subject matter experts to participate in client meetings and presentations, ensuring that we are aligning our strengths with each prospect’s unique challenges and overcoming objections to close the sale

  • Update industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

  • Travel throughout agency footprint to promote company’s products/services and identify new leads using the strategies outlined above

  • Participate in sales meetings and training sessions

  • Regularly update agency management system with sales opportunities and activities

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Commercial Insurance in a Sales and Marketing or Business Development role OR at least 5 years’ experience in business to business sales and marketing preferably within the Healthcare industry

  • Outstanding business development skills and strategic client management skills

  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • A Virginia Property & Casualty Insurance Agent's License in good standing or ability to obtain

  • Significant knowledge in (or ability to obtain) professional liability rating factors, claims management, client servicing and risk management. Must be able to effectively and cohesively communicate complex and in-depth concepts relating to these subject areas

  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills

  • Computer proficiency including the ability to use agency database software and MS Office products

 

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking and typing

  • Occasional bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 pounds

  • Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory including some overnight travel is required​​

 

Business Development Executive

We are now accepting applications for an experienced and highly knowledgeable Business Development Executive to join our New Business Sales Team. This individual will be primarily responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, developing and negotiating relationships with potential clients.  Utilize knowledge of agency products, and programs and leverage relationships with centers of influence to maintain a full funnel of new business leads.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales plan including marketing activities, prospecting calls and follow up activities, networking opportunities and keeping a full pipeline of opportunities at various stages of the sales process

  • Research and develop a sales and marketing plan for new or emerging segments within the healthcare field.  Pursue leads and follow through to closing

  • Arrange meetings with prospective clients and referral partners for the purpose of conducing needs analysis, sales presentations, and cultivating relationships resulting in new agency business opportunities

  • Engage and leverage the appropriate internal subject matter experts to participate in client meetings and presentations, ensuring that we are aligning our strengths with each prospects unique challenges and overcoming objections to close the sale

  • Cultivate and grow existing and new program business, levering special status, relationships and expertise with carriers, various trade organizations and referral source

  • Update industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

  • Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract client

  • Partner with Marketing to produce compelling and effective campaigns, collateral and proposals appealing to targeted market segments.  Plan and execute marketing strategy to align with planned sales activities and communicate regularly with the appropriate internal resource

  • Travel throughout agency footprint to promote company’s products/services and identify new leads using the strategies outlined above

  • Participate in sales meetings and training sessions

  • Regularly update EPIC with sales opportunities and activities
     

The ideal candidate will:

  • Embody the PRA Core Values by consistently providing the highest level of service and support to PRA clients, both internal and external

  • Act as a good steward of the PRA ESOP plan by managing time and resources wisely and promoting revenue growth through client retention and cross selling strategies

  • Strive to attain agency and departmental goals as determined by the agency’s annual plan.  Participate on the Plan Committee when requested

Education Requirments/Skills

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Commercial Insurance in a Sales and Marketing or Business Development role OR at least 5 years’ experience in business to business sales and marketing preferably within the Healthcare industry
